Fried Rice Recipe & Ingredients


Fried rice is a wholesome food in which you get every thing – carbohydrate, fat, proteins, minerals, vitamins and what not.

There is no such hard and fast rule about the ingredients of fried rice. You can mix anything you desire. It becomes so tasty that you can even have this without any side dish.Ingredients:
•    2 cups rice
•    1 cup shredded chicken
•    1 cup shelled and boiled shrimp
•    1 cup fresh mushroom
•    3 eggs
•    100 gm beans, finely chopped
•    2 carrots, finely chopped
•    100 cabbage, finely chopped
•    2 spring onion, finely chopped
•    2 capsicum, cut in small cubes
•    2 cloves of garlic
•    Black pepper
•    2-3 green chilies
•    Soy sauce
•    Worchester sauce
•    Cooking oil
•    Water
•    Salt

Wash rice and boil it in water till it gets tender. Drain the water and keep the rice aside. Wash everything with warm water and keep them aside. Beat eggs properly, add salt while beating. Fry them in oil and cut them into small pieces.

On a pan, heat oil, add crushed garlic, chicken and shrimp and stir. When they are half fried, add mushrooms and stir again. When the mushrooms, shrimps and chicken are completely tender add beans, carrot and cabbage. Stir continuously on high heat. Now add spring onion, capsicum and chili and stir continuously.

At last add fried eggs. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Mix all these things with the rice. Put it on low heat. Pour 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of Worchester sauce. Mix them well and remove from heat. Serve it hot. You may take it alone or with chicken curry as side dish. Serve wine with it.

You can use different flavor in this fried rice. To do this use the powder of nutmeg, cardamom and cinnamon instead of soy and Worchester sauce.

Tips: In the water in which you are boiling rice, you may mix salt and few drops lemon juice. It helps to maintain the white shine of the rice. Rice will be tender but not very much. Then you will find it difficult in stirring. Cook in high heat and without lid. This helps to keep the color of the vegetables intact.
